Auckland Reactor to Stand in Undera

Superstar Auckland Reactor to stand at Undera

New home: Auckland Reactor will stand this stud season at Glen Alvie Stud at Undera.

New Zealand superstar Auckland Reactor will have a new home for the 2022-23 stud season.

The $1.75 million-winning son of the great Mach Three is standing at the new Glen Alvie Stud, Undera, a 20ha mainly irrigated property in the heart of lush Victoria’s Goulburn Valley.

The stud is operated by Crystal Peacock, an experienced horsewoman who grew up around Jack Honan’s famed Killarney Stud, Canowindra (NSW) and, after leaving school, helped out at her father Tony’s farm at Nathalia for 10 years.

She trained the 2008 Mildura Pacing Cup winner Reba Rajah, DB Bopper and Inbetweendreams and drove six winners from only a dozen starts.

The mother of three said she was really looking forward to the exciting new venture.

“Auckland Reactor is a magnificent individual with a very kind nature. He’s doing a terrific job at stud siring winners in every Australian state, New Zealand and North America every week,” Peacock said.

With only six crops racing Auckland Reactor has progeny earnings worldwide of more than $12 million.

In Australia this season he has left 92 individual winners and they have amassed $1.72 million — his fourth consecutive million dollar season.

From his first crop he sired a top colt in Chase Auckland, a triple Group One winner of $810,384, who, like his sire, was named NZ 3YO Colt of the Year, and an outstanding racemare in Soho Burning Love ($612,763), who, at one stage, was the fastest Australian-bred pacer with a record of 1:48.2.

Besides Chase Auckland and Soho Burning Love, Auckland Reactor has sired some top pacers, colts and fillies, many of who have proven themselves at Group and Listed level.

A number of his stock have achieved great success after being exported to North America.

Other notable winners sired by him include Plutonium, a winner of eight races at Gloucester Park including a Group Two, the fast Menangle winner Reactor Now (1:51.3), the Hobart and Maryborough Cup winner Willie Go West, Gold Reactor (Redcliffe Sales Classic 2YO), the Group Three winner Shining Oro, Delightfulreaction, Jaffa Josh (1:50.8), Red Reactor (1:50.9), Jazzy Star (1:51.5) and the Melton winner Would You Mind.

Auckland Reactor’s service fee is $3000 including GST payable on 42-day positive test.

Lorraine and Geoff Barnes look after the distribution of fresh and chilled semen and the nearby Northern Rivers Equine attend to veterinary needs.
