Snudden has a strong hand

Narrandera horseman Shaun Snudden will lead a Riverina invasion at tonight’s Shepparton Harness Racing Club meeting.

Snudden will produce two of the top fancies in the opening two events in Starzz In Order and Jilliby Hanover and will also line up the likely top pick in The Kingston Flyer in the C4-C5 class race later in the program.

All three Snudden pacers will be driven by former Victorian reinsman Leigh Sutton, who also looks a winning chance in the third race on the well-drawn and consistent Passing Thru, who is trained by his wellknown farrier father, Ray.

Before a last-start failure, Starzz In Order had strung three wins together on Riverina tracks in impressive time, but has a wide frontrow barrier draw and another NSW visitor, the Menangle-trained Our Artistic Fella, to contend with.

The Kerryann Turner trained and Rob Morris driven Our Artistic Fella has good form credentials on regional NSW tracks and a suitable barrier and looks the one to beat.

Jilliby Hanover has drawn barrier three in the second race for C1 Only class pacers and recent consistent form suggests an each-way chance in an open race.

The Kingston Flyer has not been favoured by the draw, but is racing in peak form and looks the one to toss in his race.

Riverina horsemen also look to have good chances of taking the final two races on the card.

Leeton trainer Col Thomas will try to win the three-year-old race with last season’s two-year-old star Business In Motion, who has drawn barrier three, while veteran Wagga Wagga trainer Bernie Kelly looks to have a top prospect in the final event for two-year-olds with the well-drawn Sunshine Hannigan, the only winner in the field.
