TECHIES JUMP ON BOARD TO KEEP KYABRAM’S FEATURE ROLLING ALONG
After 30 years being sponsored by the Kyabram Blue Brick Hotel, the Kyabram Pacing Cup to be run this Sunday at Shepparton will have a new backer.
Techies Tyres has taken over the sponsorship of the race from the iconic Blue Brick pub, which recently closed its doors and is looking for a new licensee to fire up the watering hole built in 1899.
The Kyabram cup meeting will also feature the inaugural running of the Lyn Chambers Tribute, dedicated to Lyn who recently died.
She served Kyabram Trotting Club as assistant secretary and race day secretary since the 1970s.
A big crowd of mourners attended her funeral last week.
Other memorial races named in honour of former club stalwarts — the Dunne family, Ray Woods, Darren McGill and Kevin Abrahams — are also on the program.
Entry to the meeting is free with the first race at 5.22 pm and the final event at 9.40 pm.

Shakahari comes from barrier one for Shepparton trainer Steve O’Donoghue and driver Bec Bartley, The Boss Man comes from gate two for Avenel mentor David Aiken and reinswoman Kima Frenning, while Brallos Pass has drawn barrier three for Kyabram trainer Mark Watson and driver Ellen Tormey.
Im The Boss was huge in winning his heat on Tuesday night, while Shakahari and Brallos Pass booked their spot in the final with solid third placings in their heats.
Aiken is also represented in the 2600 m marathon by Rockstar Angel, second in her heat to Sams The Master, but will need to overcome a second row.
